A cooking apparatus and an illumination device for the same are provided to allow a user to select the direction and the color of light so that the use range of the cooling apparatus is expanded. A cooking apparatus includes a case(1), a cavity(2), a door(3), and a control panel(4). The case forms the outer portion of the cooking apparatus. The cavity receives foods to perform a cooking operation. The door selectively opens the front surface of the cavity. The control panel is provided at one side of the door to manipulate the operation of the cooking apparatus. An illumination part(5) is provided in the door to emit light. The illumination part is provided at the control panel if necessary.
