A wall (23) between a top (21) and a tire bead (22) is pinched between a projection (17) and an obstacle e.g. pavement, external to the tire. The element has a global compressible capacity with an elastic deformation in a direction of constraints with a determined global rigid module for partially dampening the constraints without simultaneously causing a harmful constraint in a direction tangential to reinforcements of the wall. The wall has an inner lining provided with a butyl rubber base. #CMT# : #/CMT# An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a tire. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Tire for being assembled under pressure on a wheel rim of a vehicle e.g. private motor vehicle. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The protection element assures an efficient protection to the wall of the tire, when the tire faces an impact e.g. rough frontal impact, of the obstacle such as pothole and pavement, on the carriageway, thus ensuring safety of the tire during movement.
