<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve usability of using a printer on a network for printing. <P>SOLUTION: A printer driver 30 in a client PC1 stores printer information including a UID and an IP address of a printer specified as an output printer on the network, and in transmitting print data to the output printer, inquires the printer with the stored IP address of the UID, acquires the UID, determines whether the acquired UID coincides with the stored UID or not, and when both the UIDs coincide with each other, transmits the print data to the output printer on the basis of the IP address to print out the print data. When no coincidence of the UIDs is determined, the printer driver 30 retrieves a printer having the stored UID from the network, acquires a current IP address of the printer and transmits the print data to the output printer based on the IP address, so that the printer prints out the print data. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
