<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas sensor element capable of enhancing water resistance and sensor characteristics, and to provide a gas sensor that uses the gas sensor element. <P>SOLUTION: The gas sensor element 1 has an oxygen ion conductive solid electrolyte 3, an electrode 31 on a measuring target gas side provided on one side of the solid electrolyte 3 to be exposed to a measuring target gas G, and electrode 32 on the reference gas side provided on the other side of the solid electrolyte 3 that is to be exposed to a reference gas A. The solid electrolyte 3 constitutes a part in the traversing surface direction of a bottomed cylindrical body 2, which has a measuring target gas inlet part 201 at its one end and a bottom part 202 at its other end. The residual part in the cross sectional direction of the bottomed cylindrical body 2 is constituted of an insulating heater arranging body 4, provided with a heater-heating part 41. The electrode 31 on the measuring target gas side is provided to the inner peripheral surface 303 of the solid electrolyte 3, and the electrode 32 on the reference gas side is provided in the outer peripheral surface 304 of the solid electrolyte 3, at a position facing the electrode 31 on the measuring target gas side. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
