<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control device of an internal combustion engine, capable of restraining the occurrence of damage by heat in a part on the upstream side of a catalyst in an exhaust system, when performing post-injection for regenerating a filter in a low state of atmospheric pressure. <P>SOLUTION: A post-injection quantity Qp in the post-injection performed when regenerating the filter, is guarded to an upper limit by using a guard value G. This guard value G is variably set so as to become small up to a value capable of restraining an excessive rise in the temperature T4, by restraining the temperature T4 of an aggregation part S of an exhaust manifold 10 in less than an allowable upper limit value, when the atmospheric pressure Pa is put in a state of being lower than standard atmospheric pressure. Thus, its aggregation part S can be restrained from being damaged by the heat, by restraining the temperature T4 of the aggregation part S from rising (excessively rising) to the allowable upper limit value or more, in the post-injection in a low state of the atmospheric pressure, by guarding the post-injection quantity Qp to the upper limit by using the guard value G. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
