PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a curable coating capable of forming coating films well balanced in adhesion with surface hardness, water proofing property and chemical resistance, to provide a resin for coating, capable of forming a cured type coating, and to provide coated products having the coating film. SOLUTION: The resin for coating, which is prepared by the radical polymerization of (a) 0.1-20 mass%α,β-monoethylenic unsaturated group-containing carboxyalkyl ester having a specific structure, such as 2-methacryloxyethyl acid phthalate, 2-methacryloxyethyl acid hexahydrophthalate and monobutyl maleate, (b) 0.1-40 mass%α,β-monoethylenic unsaturated group-containing hydroxyalkyl ester, and (c) 40-99.8 mass% otherα,β-monoethylenic unsaturated group-containing compound copolymerizable with these, is used.
