PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a metallic orifice plate which achieves stable ink ejection and improved ink deposition accuracy of an ink-jet head. SOLUTION: In preparation of the metallic orifice plate, after formation of an ink repellent layer is formed on a front surface of an ink ejection port, the orifice plate is held in a convex state with an ejection port surface placed on an upper side, and at the same time subjected to heat treatment. By virtue of the heat treatment, the orifice plate has a convex arched shape around the center, and when bonded to a pressure generating chamber, sticking locational accuracy and bonding strength are improved.
