The sensor unit (110) has electrodes (118, 126) i.e. pump cathodes, and solid electrolytes (114, 116), which are connected to the electrodes, where the electrode (118) is loaded with a gas mixer of a gas chamber (112) of an internal-combustion engine, and the electrode (126) is shielded from the gas chamber of the internal-combustion engine. A gas supply channel (166) supplies an additional amount of gas component to the electrode (118). An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a sensor unit.
