Molding material mixture for manufacturing casting molds for metal processing, at least comprises a fireproof molding base material, a binder based on water glass, a portion of a particulate metal oxide, which is silicon dioxide, aluminum oxide, titanium oxide and zinc oxide, where the molding material mixture additionally contains a carbohydrate. Independent claims are included for: (1) producing casting mold for the processing of metal, comprising producing the molding material mixture, molding the material mixture and hardening the molded material mixture, in which the molded mixture is heated to obtain the hardened casting mold; and (2) a casting mold obtained by the above method.
