An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) panel and a method of manufacturing the LCD panel are provided to form a black matrix having a height corresponding to the height of a column spacer such that the black matrix functions as a spacer to simplify a manufacturing process and reduce the manufacturing cost. An LCD panel includes a TFT(Thin Film Transistor) array substrate(180) and a color filter array substrate(170). The TFT array substrate and the color filter array substrate are bonded to each other and a liquid crystal layer(152) is interposed between the two substrates. The color filter array substrate includes a black matrix(104) which defines cell regions and maintains a cell gap between the TFT array substrate and the color filter array substrate. |
