An authentication device easily achieving convenience and high accuracy in authentication. The authentication device has an authentication accuracy simulation section for simulating authentication accuracy and also has a registration information setting section for setting an ID and biological information inputted as registration information. The authentication accuracy simulation section simulates authentication accuracy of authenticating the user by using the registered registration information and an ID and biological information that are inputted as registration information by a user at the time of registration. When the authentication accuracy simulated by the authentication accuracy simulation section does not satisfy predetermined conditions, the registration information setting section rejects registration of the ID inputted as the registration information.
