<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data transmitter capable of surely preventing data leakage from occurring by transmission even while reducing the number of times of user authentication processing during data transmitting without requiring labor in prior setting. <P>SOLUTION: The data transmitter (illustrated by digital composite machine 1) is provided with a transmission setting means (operation/display part, etc.,) for receiving from a user transmission setting including transmission object data and designation of a transmission destination, a data transmitting means for transmitting the transmission object data via a network on the basis of the received transmission setting, an authentication requesting means for requesting of an authentication destination user authentication for allowing transmission in the data transmitting means, and a determining means for determining whether to execute user authentication by collating the transmission setting with a prescribed authentication condition to check whether to coincide with the prescribed authentication condition.
