<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure execution frequency of anomaly diagnosis even when an operation state where anomaly diagnosis can not be executed in running continues, in a vehicle having an automatic stop function of an engine mounted thereon. <P>SOLUTION: If anomaly diagnosis (for instance, anomaly diagnosis of an exhaust gas sensor) to be executed before the point of time at which a predetermined automatic stop condition has been established in operating an engine has not been executed then, automatic stop is forbidden, and an anomaly diagnosis execution condition is changed over from that in running to that in an idle operation to execute anomaly diagnosis in a state where the engine is subjected to an idle operation while stopping a vehicle, and the automatic stop is permitted when the anomaly diagnosis is completed. When the determination result of the anomaly diagnosis executed in operating the engine (in running) belongs to a gray zone low in determination accuracy in an intermediate one between a normal determination zone and an anomaly determination zone, the automatic stop is forbidden, and the anomaly diagnosis is executed again in a state where the engine is subjected to an idle operation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
