PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a design method of an optical system and a manufacturing method capable of improving optical performance of the entire optical system by reducing the effect of surface shape errors due to molding by mold. SOLUTION: In the design method of the optical system at least including a refractive lens having a free curved surface and a reflective optical surface manufactured by the molding, the shape of the reflective optical surface after the molding is measured or predicted, and the refractive lens having the free curved surface is designed so that the aberration of the entire optical system is reduced on the basis of the measured shape or the predicted shape.
