PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color image forming apparatus which is capable of preventing the occurrence of a void caused by the electrification irregularities of a belt, while excellently removing deposit sticking to the belt by a cleaning roller. SOLUTION: The deposit on a conveying belt 29 can be adsorbed by a primary cleaning roller 33 by a potential difference generated between a backup roller 30 and the primary cleaning roller 33. Further, a charge eliminating member 57 is arranged between a position where the primary cleaning roller 33 faces the conveying belt 29 and a position where the photoreceptor drum 15 of a black process section 11K faces the conveying belt 29. Even when a part on which charges are concentrated exists on the conveying belt 29, the concentrated charges are discharged toward the charge eliminating member 57, to eliminate the charges from the conveying belt 29. Therefore, the occurrence of the void caused by the charging irregularities of the conveying belt 29 can be prevented. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
