PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mixed flow fan or a sound absorber for the mixed flow fan having an outer shape equivalent to a suction port in a small size, and capable of achieving effective sound absorbing effect in a middle frequency band. SOLUTION: The mixed flow fan is equipped with a mixed flow impeller 1 having an impeller 1a arranged to blow the air obliquely to a rotating shaft 21, a fan casing 2 covering the mixed flow impeller 1, and the suction port 3 sucking fluid to a rotating shaft direction of the fan casing 2. A sound absorbing part having a shield plate 4 and a punching metal 5 is provided on an opening front surface of the suction port 3, and thereby, the noise in the middle frequency band of 500-1000 Hz generated in the mixed flow fan can be restrained.
