PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately carry out channel preset without missing, overlapping, etc. of channels for all digital television broadcasting of an ATSC (Advanced Television Systems Committee) system including exceptional broadcasting in which information relating to the channel is insufficient or overlapping in a video image processing apparatus with a receiving function of digital television broadcasting of the ATSC system. SOLUTION: A channel preset processing unit 12 assigns suitable virtual channels so as for the register not to overlap in CH-DB (Channel Database) 13, and temporarily registers for all digital television broadcasting of the ATSC system which can be received including exceptional broadcasting in which information relating to the channel is insufficient, or overlapping. Afterward, it writes in registering contents of the CH-DB 13 in a memory 4, and appropriately performs channel preset without missing, overlapping of channels, etc. of all digital television broadcasting of the ATSC system which can be received.
