PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitoring video recording controller which efficiently detects an event that occurs in an area to be monitored, and stores photographed data while considering a degree of importance in a state retrieval is facilitated later. SOLUTION: A monitoring video recording controller comprises: a setting information recording section 203b which records, as setting information, information indicative of a condition for sorting an event that occurs in the monitored area, for each class and importance degree information constituted of a degree of importance for each of sensors 40-1 to 40-m and weighting information of a degree of importance for each class of the event; and a CPU 206 which calculates a degree of importance while sorting the event for each class on the basis of sensor signals and the setting information when it is detected on the basis of the sensor signals acquired from the sensors 40-1 to 40-m that the event occurs in the monitored area, generates management information containing the sorting information of the event and the degree of importance, associates the generated management information with video data when the event occurs, and records data contained in the management information preferentially from the highest degree of importance.
