PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle control device capable of changing the operation timing of an operation apparatus in response to a travel position of one's own vehicle. SOLUTION: This vehicle control device has an obstacle detecting means 1 detecting an obstacle in front of the one's own vehicle, an operation control means 3 operating the operation apparatus of the one's own vehicle in the predetermined operation timing corresponding to inter-vehicle time up to the obstacle detected by the obstacle detecting means 1, a navigation unit 4 having map information and determining the travel position of the one's own vehicle on the map information, and a timing changing means 5 changing the operation timing of the operation apparatus 2 by the operation control means 3 to the inter-vehicle time up to the obstacle in response to the travel position of the one's own vehicle on the map information determined by the navigation unit 4.
