A knuckle joint 64 is provided, which is particularly suited to power tools where it is desired to provide an articulation between two body portions 58, 54. A knuckle joint locking mechanism prevents relative movement of the two body portions. The knuckle joint can be unlocked by pressing an actuator pushbutton into the joint, thereby disengaging teeth 84, 86 of the locking mechanism with at least one set of teeth 104, 108 on joint portions 150, 160 of the body portions. The pushbutton can be pressed into the joint from either side of the joint, thus providing a knuckle joint which can be unlocked to allow relative movement of the joint from either side of the joint. A spring 88 is provided to urge the locking mechanism into a locking position. |
