A backlight unit driver is provided to prevent irregular luminance and flickering of a lamp in a low-temperature environment or an environment having no light by using a frequency varying circuit capable of controlling a driving frequency for driving the lamp. A backlight unit driver(180) includes a PWM(Pulse Width Modulation) IC(Integrated Circuit)(181) and a frequency varying circuit. The PWM IC generates a driving frequency for controlling a lamp(190). The frequency varying circuit varies the driving frequency. The frequency varying circuit generates a driving frequency in a first period, which is lower than the driving frequency generated in a second period. The first period is an initial driving period of the lamp, which corresponds to about one to three seconds. |
