METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ALLOCATING RESOURCES IN A WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

A method and an apparatus for allocating resources in a wireless communication system are provided to save the resources being wasted by sharing DRCH resources, which are allotted to users of a group from a OFDM system, with BRCH resource users. A resource assignment controller checks up whether DRCH(Distributed Resource Channel) resources are used(601). If all the DRCH resources are being used, the resource assignment controller transmits data through rest resources except for a punctured part by all DRCH resources from the allotted BRCH(Block Resource Channel) resources(605). If unused resources exist among the DRCH resources, the resource assignment controller transmits the data by comprising the unused part among the resources which is punctured to be allotted to the DRCH resources from the BRCH resources(607).
