<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an anode base material, a secondary battery using the anode base material, a complex film forming material used for forming the anode base material, and a manufacturing method of the anode base material, enabling achievement of a battery having high output voltage and high energy density as well as excellent charge/discharge cycle characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: The anode base material is made by forming a support body equipped with a composite membrane formed of a composite membrane-forming material containing an organic component and an inorganic component, or the anode base material is equipped with a patterned composite membrane patterning the above composite membrane in a given shape by pattern exposure.
