<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an abnormality report device and abnormality report method, which automatically specifies a contact address of appropriate a maintenance staff member and reports a necessary error message thereto. <P>SOLUTION: Contact address information of a contact destination and one or more group numbers to which the contact destination belongs, are preliminarily stored, and message information containing a keyword and the group number is preliminarily stored. A message issued from a monitored system that is an object of maintenance is detected, whether it needs contact is determined according to whether the keyword in the message information is present.
