<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image forming apparatus formed by integrating a light emitting element array with an image carrier, and capable of outputting a high-definition character or line even though the pixel resolution of the light emitting element array is not made high. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes the image carrier 620, a charging means 640 for charging the image carrier, a developing means 660 for developing a latent image on the image carrier as a developer image, and a transfer means 411 for transferring the developer image on the image carrier to a transfer medium 416. The image carrier 620 is an exposure source and latent image formation integrated type image carrier which is integrally equipped with the light emitting element array functioning as a first exposure means and a photoreceptive layer charged by the charging means, and where individual light emitting pixel parts in the light emitting element array are independently driven to emit light corresponding to image data, thereby exposing the photoreceptive layer and forming the latent image on the charged surface of the photoreceptive layer. The image forming apparatus includes a second exposure means 320 forming the latent image by exposing the photoreceptive layer charged by the charging means corresponding to the image data at a position separate from the image carrier 620 by a fixed distance. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
