A method for preparing silica nanoparticles is provided to prepare a large amount of silica nanoparticles easily at room temperature by improving an existing stober method, thereby adding an anionic polymer, and reduce the preparation costs as compared with an existing process by simplifying a reaction process of the silica nanoparticles, and silica nanoparticles prepared by the method are provided. A method for preparing silica nanoparticles comprises: a step(S10) of mixing and agitating an anionic polymer with distilled water or a buffer solution; a step(S20) of adding an alcohol to the agitated mixed solution to mix the alcohol with the mixed solution; a step(S30) of mixing ammonia and tetraethyl orthosilicate with the alcohol-added mixed solution; and a step(S40) of reacting the mixed solution with the ammonia and tetraethyl orthosilicate through an agitation process to form silica nanoparticles, and cleaning the silica nanoparticles with an alcohol. The anionic polymer is a water-soluble polymer with an anionic functional group. The anionic polymer is polyacrylic acid-based polymer, a polymethacrylic acid-based polymer, a poly(3-thiophene acetic acid)-based polymer, a poly(sulfonate styrene)-based polymer, or combinations thereof. The anionic functional group is at least one of a carboxyl group(-COO^-), a sulfonic acid group(-SO3^-), and an acetoxy group(-CH2COO^-). |
