PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide heat conductive polymer moldings suitably usable in applications of heat radiation from heat-generating elements, and to provide a method for producing the moldings. SOLUTION: The heat conductive polymer moldings are produced through a preparation step, a phase transition step, an orientation step, a molding step and a heating step. In the preparation step, a liquid crystalline composition containing a thermotropic liquid crystalline polymer is prepared. In the phase transition step, the thermotropic liquid crystalline polymer is phase-transferred into liquid crystalline state. In the orientation step, the thermotropic liquid crystalline polymer is oriented by using at least one of external field selected from a flow field, a shear field, a magnetic field and an electric field. In the molding step, in a state keeping orientation of the thermotropic liquid crystalline polymer, the thermotropic liquid crystalline polymer moldings are formed by phase-transition of the thermotropic liquid crystalline polymer from the crystalline state to solid state. And in the heating step, the thermotropic crystalline polymer moldings are heat-treated to obtain the heat conductive polymer moldings. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
