PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous gel composition stably holding an oil-soluble ascorbic acid derivative even when a polyacrylic acid salt is used in an aqueous gel cataplasm containing the ascorbic acid derivative, prevented from discoloration, having strong strength of the gel, and hardly leaving the gel on the skin. SOLUTION: The aqueous gel composition contains the oil-soluble ascorbic acid derivative, anα-hydroxycarboxylic acid and a sugar alcohol as essential components, and uses the polyacrylic acid salt as a base polymer.
