PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for information processing which allow even a reproduction apparatus that is not connected to a network to reproduce the latest updated multimedia content information and improve user convenience. SOLUTION: When a non-rewritable recording medium that includes updated multimedia content information is copied, updated multimedia content information is downloaded from an external server 101 through a network, and then the downloaded multimedia content information is stored into a local storage 105. Subsequently, the multimedia content information stored in the local storage 105 is synthesized with the multimedia content information prerecorded in the non-rewritable recording medium, and the recording medium included with the synthesized multimedia content information is copied.
