摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin film magnetic head provided with an MR element, in which a sufficient bias magnetic field for domain control can be supplied to a magnetization free layer of an MR laminate, consequently, proper linear response having no noise can be performed, a magnetic disk drive device provided with the thin-film magnetic head, and to provide a manufacturing method for the thin-film magnetic head. SOLUTION: The thin film magnetic head is provided with a lower electrode layer, an MR multi-layered structure which is stacked on the lower electrode layer and through which a current passes in a direction perpendicular to the laminating plane, soft magnetic layers for magnetic domain control formed on both sides in the track width direction of the MR multi-layered structure, an anti-ferromagnetic layer for magnetic domain control continuously stacked on the MR multi-layered structure and the soft magnetic layers for the magnetic domain control and coupled mutually exchanging with the soft magnetic layers for magnetic domain control, and an upper electrode layer stacked on the antiferromagnetic layer for magnetic domain control.
