PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat assist magnetic head or the like capable of applying a conventional magnetic recording element manufacturing method and improving the yield at manufacturing and the reliability at operation. SOLUTION: One side of the light source support panel 230 has the main surface 411 and a recessed surface 412, and a level difference is formed between the main surface 411 and the recessed surface 412 in the stacking direction of the laser diode element 40. The light emitting element 40 has a first surface 401 facing the main surface 411 and a second surface 402 facing the recessed surface 412. A level difference is formed in the stacking direction of the laser diode element 40 between the first facing surface 401 and the second facing surface 402. One side of the light source support panel 230 is made of an insulation material, and a first electrode 47 and a second electrode 48 are interposed between the main surface 411 and the first facing surface 401 and between the recessed surface 412 and the second facing surface 402, respectively.
