PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carbon fiber bundle capable of providing a carbon fiber-reinforced composite material less affected by temperature ambience, excellent in tensile strength in a longitudinal direction of a fiber and also excellent in adhesive strength. SOLUTION: The carbon fiber bundle is coated with a sizing agent containing an epoxy resin as the main ingredient, wherein the epoxy resin is such that the coefficient of linear expansion of a cured product for evaluation which is obtained by mixing an equivalent of 3,3'-diaminodiphenylsulfone to the epoxy resin followed by heat treatment at 180°C for 4 h is 6×10<SP>-5</SP>/°C or less as determined by thermomechanical analysis. Alternatively, the carbon fiber bundle is coated with a sizing agent containing an epoxy resin of formula (1) as the main ingredient (wherein, R1 and R2 are each an organic residue having a functional group selected from an epoxy group and an alicyclic epoxy group, and may be the same as each other).
