PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a follow-up traveling device which can be used with a simple operation by a general driver, in particular, a senior driver and a female driver, and can reduce the driving burden. SOLUTION: The follow-up traveling device comprises a preceding vehicle detection means 11, a target vehicle-to-vehicle distance setting means 12 for setting the target vehicle-to-vehicle distance, an upper limit vehicle speed setting means 13 for setting the upper limit vehicle speed, a vehicle speed detection means 14 for detecting the one's own vehicle speed, a brake operation detection means 15 for detecting whether or not a brake is operated by a driver, a throttle actuator 16 for operating a throttle of an engine, and a travel control means 17 for controlling the throttle opening from various kinds of information.
