METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ARBITRATING BUS USING ARBITRATION PARAMETER CHANGED IN REAL-TIME

A method and a device for arbitrating a bus with an arbitration parameter changed in real-time are provided to reflect information to bus arbitration in an SoC(System on Chip) bus system connecting various kinds of bus maters for memory access by monitoring a bus occupation ratio of bus maters in real-time and improve bus performance by changing arbitration parameters needed for the bus arbitration. A bus monitor(220) outputs a monitoring signal by monitoring at least one of a bandwidth requiring amount and latency of bus masters(212-216) in real-time. A bus request grant signal is generated depending on priority by determining the priority of the bus masters based on output of the bus monitor. A parameter table(270) stores arbitration parameters. A parameter updater(280) updates the arbitration parameters based on the monitoring signal. An arbitration policy determiner(260) determines an arbitration policy related to the priority by using the arbitration parameters. A grant determiner(240) generates a bus request grant signal based on the arbitration policy received from the arbitration policy determiner and the arbitration parameters stored in the parameter table.
