<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that an ejected drop adheres to the vicinity of the nozzle surface to form a recording liquid sump thus breaking a meniscus by bends of the ejected drop as stiffening and drying of recording liquid progresses in the nozzle of a recording head if recovery from dummy ejection is insufficient. <P>SOLUTION: A first head 34a using an ink A having a highest degree of dryness is moved to a dummy ejection position and dummy ejection from the first head 34a is performed. Subsequently, a carriage 33 is moved in the direction of arrow A and dummy ejection from a second head 34b is performed. Similarly, dummy ejection from a third head 34c is performed, and the carriage 33 is moved in the direction of print region in order to start print operation after performing dummy ejection from a fourth head 34d. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
