OPTICAL FIBER CORD HOLDER AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING OPTICAL FIBER CORD WITH CONNECTOR USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber cord holder that stabilizes the connected state of optical fibers and facilitates manufacture of an optical connector with excellent reliability for a long period of time, and to provide a method for manufacturing an optical connector with an optical fiber cord by using the above holder.

SOLUTION: The optical fiber cord holder holds an optical fiber cord comprising an optical fiber covered with a sheath and is positioned and placed on a holder base of a fusing and splicing machine, and the method for manufacturing an optical fiber cord with connector is carried out by using the holder. The optical fiber cord holder 10 has a holding groove 11b to hold an optical fiber cord and a positioning groove 11d to position and hold a reinforcing sleeve to reinforce the fused and spliced portion of the optical fiber together with the optical fiber, both grooves formed on a substrate 11.
