PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved X-ray tube having a magnetic fluid seal assembly. SOLUTION: The X-ray tube (14) comprises chambers (50, 52) which are arranged in a surrounding environment and surround high vacuum and a shaft in free rotation (66) which has a first portion extending into the chambers (50, 52) and a second portion extending to the outside from the chambers (50, 52). A magnetic fluid seal (88) is arranged around the rotatable shaft (66) and arranged between the first portion and the second portion, and the magnetic fluid seal (88) seals the chambers (50, 52) by fluid. The magnetic fluid seal assembly (88) further comprises a plurality of non-magnetic conductive elements (108, 110) constituted so as to lower operating temperature in the magnetic fluid seal assembly (88).
