PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an occupant protection device capable of weakening a part of a door trim in a collision of a vehicle or in the prediction of the collision without lowering strength when normally using the door trim. SOLUTION: This occupant protection device 10 protects an occupant by weakening a part of the door trim 12 in the collision of the vehicle or the prediction of the collision. The occupant protection device 10 is provided with a wire 14 buried in the door trim 12 and a pulling means pulling the wire 14 in the collision of the vehicle or the prediction of the collision. It is desirable that the pulling means is constituted of a cylinder 16 capable of pulling the wire 14 by gas pressure or a winding device 70 capable of winding the wire 14 by a motor 72.
