PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for speedily producing an absorber without forming twists or folds in a sheet composing the absorber. SOLUTION: The apparatus for producing an absorber comprises a rotary drum 3 that rotates while attracting an air-permeable first sheet 11 around its circumference 30, a second sheet supply means 4 that supplies a second sheet 12, and an absorbent material supply means 5 that supplies an absorbent material 13 on the surface of the first sheet 11 attracted on the circumference 30. After the absorbent material 13 is attracted on the surface of the first sheet 11 via the first sheet 11, the absorbent material 13 and the first sheet 11 are separated in one piece from the rotary drum 3 to produce an absorber in which the absorbent material 13 is arranged between the first sheet 11 and the second sheet 12. The rotary drum 3 has a profile that corresponds to the arrangement pattern of the absorbent material 13. The rotary drum further has a concave part 31 for attracting the absorbent material 13 along with the first sheet 11 on its circumference 30 and a holding means 33 for holding both the side portions of the first sheet 11 on the outside of the concave part 31.
