PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slot machine which enables the awarding of prizes by the formation of consolidated symbols displayed across a plurality of displays with split symbols arrayed respectively on reels with displays. SOLUTION: The first upper reel 41 and the first lower reel 42 arrayed on the upper display 5 associated with the start of a game and the second upper reel 43 and the second lower reel 44 arrayed on the lower display 6 are started to rotate and four split symbols 25 in total are stopped and displayed in symbol display regions 31-34 after a prescribed time passes. As a result, when the consolidated symbols 26 across the symbol display regions 31-34 are formed by the combination of the split symbols 25 especially displayed, players are awarded prizes based on the type of the formed consolidated symbols.
