An apparatus and method to collect an immiscible target fluid (101) submerged in a carrier fluid (102) of greater specific gravity than the target fluid. The apparatus includes a funnel (20) with a system for submerging the funnel in the carrier fluid (55) and a pump (90) for collecting the fluid at the smaller end of the funnel. In use, the funnel is positioned between the submerged target fluid and the upper surface of the carrier fluid to catch and direct the target fluid upwards.
