A high performance radial tire with the polyethylene-naphthalate deep cord carcass ply is provided to apply the dip cord produced from high extension filament and high tenacity filament to a carcass ply, thereby obtaining various application fields. A radial air tire(31) comprises a pair of parallel bead cores(36), at least one radial carcass ply(32) for being rolled around the bead core, a belt layer(40) laminated on the circumference of the carcass ply, and a belt reinforcement layer formed to the direction of the circumference of the belt layer. The carcass ply is formed of the dip cord produced from the polyethylene-naphthalate high tenacity filament having 9.2-9.7 g/d strength and the polyethylene-naphthalate high extension filament having 10-15% degree of extension. The dip cord has the tenacity of 15-23 kg, the middle degree of extension of 2.2-2.4%, the adhesive strength to rubber of more than 12 kg, the fatigue-resistance of more than 85%, and the degree of contraction of 0.8-1.4%. The degree of extension of the polyethylene- naphthalate high tenacity filament is 8-10%.
