<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device, wherein a lubricant can be applied onto an image bearing member, at all times and stably regardless of image area ratio and stable high-quality images can be obtained over a long period of time. <P>SOLUTION: The developing device comprises a main unit 4 of the developing device internally provided with a lubricant added developer; a developer bearing member 41 which is disposed in the main unit of the developing device and bears and conveys the developer as a magnetic brush; a supply conveyance passage 44a having a supply conveyance member 44b, which conveys the developer under stirring along the axial direction of the developer bearing member and supplies the developer to the developer bearing member; a recovery conveyance passage 43a having a recovery conveyance member 43b, which recovers developer after development from the developer bearing member and conveys the recovered developer, in the same direction as the supply conveyance member; and a stirring conveyance passage 45a having a stirring conveyance member 45b, which conveys developer under stirring in the opposite direction to the supply conveyance member, through which the developer prepared by stirring surplus developer not supplied to the developer bearing member from the supply conveyance passage and the recovered developer from the recovery conveyance passage is supplied circulated, to the supply conveyance passage. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
