<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a golf ball having excellent flight performance and controllability acceptable to professionals and other skilled golf players, and having an excellent durability to cracking on repeated hitting and an excellent scuff resistance. <P>SOLUTION: This multi-piece solid golf ball includes a core, an envelope layer which encases the core and having an inside layer and an outside layer, an intermediate layer enclosing it, and a cover which encases the intermediate layer and is formed with multiple dimples formed on the surface, wherein the core is formed primarily of a rubber material, and the envelope layer, the intermediate layer and the cover are each formed primarily of the same or different resin materials. The cover, the intermediate layer and the envelop layer have total thicknesses satisfying the relationship; cover thickness<intermediate layer thickness<envelop layer thickness; the envelop layer inside layer material, the envelop layer outside layer material, the intermediate layer material and the cover material have hardnesses satisfying the relationship; envelop layer inside layer material hardness<envelop layer outside layer material hardness<intermediate layer material hardness>cover material hardness; and the envelop layer outside layer has a Durometer D hardness of at least 53. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
