PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a retrieval support system or the like, for presenting a retrieval condition capable of acquiring an optimum number of corresponding items to a user. SOLUTION: The user accesses a site operated by a Web server 3, inputs a retrieval condition through a user terminal 15-1 to 15-N, and executes retrieval of contents. When the number of corresponding contents is large as a result of retrieval, a retrieval support system server 5 extracts retrieval conditions used by other users who performed retrieval using retrieval conditions similar to or closer to that of the user, and presents them on the user terminal 15-5 to 15-N. When corresponding contents are not obtained or few as a result of retrieval, a retrieval condition which can provide an appropriate number of corresponding items in a retrieval condition close to the retrieval condition used by the user is extracted, and presented on the user terminal 15-1 to 15-N.
