<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting system capable of recognizing a reasonable dweller, controlling lighting, and enabling a monitoring camera to capture and store its image. <P>SOLUTION: The lighting system recognizes the entire or part of a person based on a video signal acquired by an image sensor 11 which captures object images and controls lighting of a lamp 12 based on the result of recognition. This system can keep on lighting a lamp 12 or blinking the lamp 12 for alarming if the person of the captured image does not match a prescribed image. This system can control lighting more appropriately by identifying reasonable dwellers.
