PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manual paper feed mechanism of an image forming device enabling an easy manual paper feed by reducing operations performed by the operator during the manual paper feeding. SOLUTION: This manual paper feed mechanism of an image forming device comprises a manual paper feed tray 30 openably fitted to the body cover 6 of the image forming device, a flapper 31 on which the paper swingably placed on the manual paper feed tray 30 is placed, a feed roller 33 disposed on the paper loading surface 31b side of the flapper 31, a coiled spring 32 biasing the flapper 31 to the feed roller 33, and a pushdown lever 35 installed rotatably between a pushdown position where the flapper 31 is pushed down to separate from the feed roller 33 and a release position where the pushdown of the flapper 31 is released. The paper feed mechanism further comprises an engagement part 37 engaged with the operating end 35b of the pushdown lever 35 at the release position and rotating the pushdown lever 35 to the pushdown position when the manual paper feed tray 30 is opened.
