<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical coupling apparatus which can be easily assembled owning to a small number of parts. <P>SOLUTION: An element unit 46 includes a lead frame 50 wherein a light emitting mold 48 and a light receiving mold 49 are mounted. An encapsulting case for housing the element unit 46 can be divided into two parts, an upper case 45 and a lower case 47. Thus, the element unit 46 is pinched by the upper case 45 and the lower case 47, securing an external connection terminal 43 on one end of the lead frame 50 to the encapsulting case as well as positioning it within a connector 42. Therefore, the number of parts is reduced to only three, and it becomes unnecessary to conduct welding, soldering or thermal caulking. Thanks to the fixing mechanism of the upper case 45 and the lower case 47, the element unit 46 can be secured to the encapsulting case, permitting easy assembling. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
