PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic device, the housing design of which can be more freely determined than conventional ones, and an electronic device housing. SOLUTION: An opening 36 that is provided in a housing main body 14 is covered with a permeable panel member 34 from the outside of the housing main body 14. The permeable panel member 34 selectively permeates infrared rays. In such an electronic device housing, the design of the permeable panel member 34 is determined not depending on the shape of the opening 36. Thereby, the design of the housing main body 14 that is an electronic device housing can be more freely determined than conventional ones, so that a good-looking electronic device housing is realized.
