PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a dial plate for a timepiece to efficiently manufacture a dial plate for a timepiece excelling in light transmitting properties and in decorative properties (ornamental appearance) by a simple method, to provide the dial plate for the timepiece excelling in light transmitting properties and in decorative properties (ornamental appearance), and further, to provide the timepiece excelling in decorative properties with a solar battery supplied with a sufficient light amount of outside light. SOLUTION: This manufacturing method of the dial plate for the timepiece is a method of manufacturing the dial plate for the timepiece comprising a coating 3 on a substrate 2 formed out of a material having light transmitting properties, with the coating 3 formed out of a material having the function of reflecting or absorbing light. This manufacturing method is characterized in that the coating is formed as a multitude of fine projection parts disposed on a prescribed pattern by causing a liquid composition 31 to be intermittently discharged as liquid drops out of a head part onto the substrate by the vibration of a piezoelectric element, with the liquid composition 31 containing the material having the function of reflecting or absorbing light.
